These touch screen LED light bases can either run via triple AAA batteries ( not included ) or via a USB connection which is provided . We have 2 styles , one with a circle inlay for any round pieces to sit in comfortably or we have a flat base for any square pieces that can sit on a flat surface . All lights have duel modes , continuous colour shift or single colour mode that is interchangeable. Measurements of bases are in display pictures
